Materiality & Light Modulation

The facade of The Lighthouse is designed as a sophisticated, responsive skin that wraps around the building’s fluid geometry. Utilizing high-performance modular panels, the exterior creates a rhythmic pattern inspired by traditional Albanian weaving and natural textures. These elements provide optimal solar shading while ensuring maximum transparency to capture the panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and Buna River.

Glass, refined concrete, and metallic accents that reflect the changing colors of the coastal sky.

Thermal efficiency through a double-skin system that promotes natural ventilation.

Stability Meets Fluidity

The building’s distinctive “twist” is achieved through a robust central core and a perimeter column system that shifts at each level. This structural strategy allows for expansive, column-free interior spaces and large cantilevered terraces.

A high-strength reinforced concrete core provides the primary lateral stability.

Post-tensioned concrete slabs allow for the necessary thinness and flexibility to execute the rotating geometry.
